Da giorni le autorit inglesi e americane spingono per lipotesi di un piano di sabotaggio orchestrato da Teheran: proprio in questa direzione andava larresto di un cittadino con doppia cittadinanza britannica e iraniana, accusato di aver pianificato un attacco terroristico. Oggi per il 25enne stato rilasciato su cauzione, due giorni dopo il suo arresto nel centro di Londra e la perquisizione da parte della polizia di due immobili nella capitale britannica.
Il rilascio del giovane britannico-iraniano segue a quello degli altri cinque uomini che erano stati arrestati domenica scorsa sempre in seguito allincidente di sicurezza alla base Raf di Fairford. Tutti cittadini britannici ventenni residenti a Londra, erano stati inizialmente arrestati con laccusa di reati legati agli esplosivi e al terrorismo e poi rilasciati su cauzione. La polizia aveva successivamente dichiarato di aver rinvenuto una quantit di benzina in tre furgoni collegati ai cinque sospetti, ma nessun esplosivo.
Le ricostruzioni finora fornite dalle autorit britanniche restano per ora piene di punti oscuri, ancora tutti da chiarire. A puntare il dito apertamente contro un presunto complotto di Teheran era stata fin da subito lamministrazione Usa di Donald Trump, in particolare per bocca del segretario di Stato, Marco Rubio. Ma nei giorni scorsi anche il primo ministro britannico, Andy Burnham, sera esposto evocando forti indicazioni rispetto a un potenziale ruolo iraniano. Poi nella faccenda si inserito il primo ministro dIsraele, Benyamin Netanyahu, sostenendo che lintelligence del suo Paese avrebbe preallertato i britannici sul rischio di unazione ostile sponsorizzata dallIran. Accuse che Teheran fin dallinizio nega categoricamente come strumentali, cospirazioniste e del tutto infondate.

The situation surrounding the alleged attack on the RAFs military airbase in Fairford, used by US bombers during the war with Iran, continues to be increasingly uncertain. For days, British and American authorities have been pushing for the hypothesis of a sabotage plot orchestrated by Tehran: this was reflected in the arrest of a dual citizen British and Iranian accused of planning a terrorist attack. However, the 25-year-old was released on bail two days after his arrest in central London and a police search of two properties in the capital.
The release of the young British-Iranian follows that of the other five men who were arrested last Sunday following the security incident at the RAFs Fairford base. All twenty-something British citizens resident in London had initially been arrested on charges relating to explosives and terrorism, before being released on bail. Police subsequently stated they had found a quantity of gasoline in three vans linked to the five suspects, but no explosive devices.
The reconstruction provided so far by British authorities remains full of unanswered questions, currently all to be clarified. The US administration under Donald Trump was immediately pointing the finger at a presumed Tehran conspiracy, particularly through the voice of Secretary of State Marco Rubio. However, in recent days, British Prime Minister Andy Burnham also expressed strong indications regarding a potential role for Iran. Then, Israeli Prime Minister Benyamin Netanyahu entered the affair, stating that his countrys intelligence had alerted the British to the risk of an Iranian-sponsored hostile action. Accusations that Tehran categorically denies from the outset as instrumentally driven, conspiratorial and entirely unfounded.
