Washington.- El secretario de Estado de Estados Unidos, Marco Rubio, ofreci este lunes el apoyo de su pas a Colombia tras el potente , caus graves daos en varias ciudades del oeste y el centro y deja al menos 20 muertos.
El jefe de la diplomacia estadounidense dijo en redes sociales que la Administracin de Donald Trump est monitoreando de cerca la situacin y que est lista para apoyar al pueblo colombiano y al Gobierno del presidente, Abelardo de la Espriella.
Rubio inst adems a los ciudadanos estadounidenses que se encuentran en Colombia a inscribirse en la pgina web del Departamento de Estado y a seguir las cuentas en redes sociales de la Embajada en Bogot para obtener asistencia e informacin.
Reacciones de solidaridad tras el terremoto en Colombia
Otras figuras polticas estadounidenses tambin han expresado su solidaridad con Colombia, entre ellas el senador republicano Bernie Moreno, nacido en Bogot, quien afirm que Estados Unidos est listo para respaldar a su gran aliado y destac el excelente liderazgo de De la Espriella.
La congresista republicana Mara Elvira Salazar, de origen cubano, afirm por su parte que est orando por Colombia, por las vctimas del terremoto y por sus familias.
