Esiste realmente una causa che d diritto al rimborso ma riguarda solo i clienti degli Stati Uniti. Potreste perdere dei soldi e regalare i vostri dati personali, avverte lassociazione. Come riportato dal Corriere della Sera, la vicenda ha avuto inizio mercoled 25 marzo, quando un giovane italiano, ben vestito, ha consegnato alla donna una busta commerciale chiedendo solo conferma del nome e poi andando via. Allinterno, un assegno emesso dalla Huntington National Bank di Columbus, Ohio, e una lettera che parlava del Restore Online Shoppers Confidence Act, della Ftc e del presidente Donald Trump, con istruzioni per il rimborso via PayPal entro il 28 aprile 2026.
La donna, insospettita dalla consegna a mano, ha subito denunciato ai carabinieri e contattato Adiconsum. Le verifiche hanno confermato i suoi dubbi: La lettera di Formigine un capolavoro falsario, la prova che il catalogo delle truffe continua ad arricchirsi. Ecco: non depositate lassegno, denunciate subito. State attenti ai messaggi successivi con link che mettono a rischio i dati, anche quelli bancari, mette in guardia Adele Chiara Cangini, coordinatrice Adiconsum Emilia-Romagna per Modena e Reggio Emilia.
I rischi
I rischi principali sono due: il cosiddetto overpayment scam, in cui la banca accredita i fondi e i truffatori chiedono un bonifico di restituzione e il phishing, con link che possono compromettere password, dati bancari e informazioni personali. La causa reale coinvolge solo gli utenti statunitensi di Amazon Prime, mentre la banca e il sito indicato nella lettera non hanno alcun legame con clienti italiani. Un tentativo di truffa ben architettato, che sfrutta documenti autentici e unillusione di legittimit: un promemoria che, anche davanti a cifre modeste come 51 dollari, la prudenza non mai troppa.

There is a real lawsuit that entitles you to a refund but concerns only U.S. customers. You could lose money and give away your personal data, warns the association. As reported by Corriere della Sera, the story began on Wednesday, March 25th, when a young Italian man, well-dressed, handed the woman a business envelope asking only for confirmation of the name and then leaving. Inside, a check issued by the Huntington National Bank of Columbus, Ohio, and a letter referring to the Restore Online Shoppers Confidence Act, the FTC, and President Donald Trump, with instructions for a refund via PayPal by April 28, 2026.
The woman, suspicious of the hand delivery, immediately reported it to the Carabinieri and contacted Adiconsum.
