Haar Wikipediapagina was vijftien minuten in de lucht toen ik las dat Karoline Leavitt door Donald Trump is benoemd tot perswoordvoerder van het Witte Huis. Trump noemt haar slim, hard en een bewezen hoogst effectieve communicator. De president: Ze zal excelleren op het podium en helpen onze boodschap af te leveren aan de VS om Amerika weer groot te maken.
Te hopen valt dat Karoline Leavitt in de smaak valt. Trump versleet tijdens zijn eerste presidentstermijn vijf perschefs. n vertrok naar Alaska. Dat is geen waardeoordeel over Alaska. Opmerkelijk is het volgende: Karoline Leavitt is niet alleen maar drie jaar ouder dan mijn zoon ze is katholiek. Een niet te onderschatten detail in een wereldmacht maar niet meer de enige waar White Anglo-Saxon Protestant (blank, Angelsaksisch, protestant (WASP) vaak nog steeds de norm is.
Op haar Instagrampagina (Karolineleavitt) is ze een werkende moeder. Haar ouders hadden een ijscozaak en handelden in tweedehands trucks.
Geboren in het welvarende New Hampshire ook het domein van de katholieke Kennedyclan studeerde de mamma van een zoon (1 jaar oud) politieke wetenschappen en communicatie. Tijdens stages bij Fox News en de staf van Trump leerde Karoline Leavitt journalisten afblaffen, een kunst die Trump tot in de finesses beheerst als vragen hem niet bevallen.

Over abortus en haar katholieke roots vond ik niet veel. Leavitt is pro-life en voor priv onderwijs. Of ze Poetin wil verslaan en hoe sympathiek ze Oekrane vindt, houdt ze in het midden. Dat is beleid van de baas. Karoline Leavitt wordt betaald om dat in de media te verkopen.
Op officile fotos draagt ze een kruisje om haar nek, waar een overheidswoordvoerder in Nederland dat streng verboden zou worden.
De Millennial werd 27 jaar geleden geboren in Atkinson. Of ze Ierse danwel Engelse roots heeft, hoop ik nog te lezen.
